The 3 'I's in Early Years

Welcome to the heart of our ChildPrep mission - The 3 'I's. This page is dedicated to providing valuable insights, creative ideas, and cutting-edge strategies to empower childcare providers to excel in their roles and parents to create enriching experiences for their children.

What do the 3 'I's represent?

  1. Intent – This refers to the purpose of the activity. What are the goals you aim to achieve? What specific learning outcomes do you want the children to gain from this activity?

  2. Implementation – This covers how the activity will be carried out. What resources will be needed? How will the children engage with the activity to develop the targeted skills? Additionally, how can you adapt the activity to make it more accessible or challenging, depending on the children's individual needs?

  3. Impact – This reflects the results of the activity. What have the children learned or achieved? How has the activity contributed to their development or understanding?
